This is a tip especially for design school. This is the place where you learn how to express who you are as a designer in order to showcase your skills. When faced with briefs of feedback you don't understand or agree with it is important not to lose yourself for this very reason. You didn't go there to satisfy others opinions, you went to gain insights and take on what they had to say while keeping true to yourself and where you want to go. Upon graduating and landing a job, it might feel like you're there to please others and do what they say. But you shouldn't settle for a place that doesn't make you happy, you should be somewhere that allows the 'who you are' which you discovered to flourish. Somewhere that shares values and goals similar to yours. The only way to be in a place like this is to not lose yourself during the learning process. Showcase what you love, and the opportunities that find you will hopefully be in response to it. |
