Not just an audience, but your audience. Just as I've discussed before, finding people who support you and your work is one of the best ways to keep you motivated. Getting a support system to start off with is very easy when reaching out to close friends and family. By reaching out a little further to find yourself an audience, you might find yourself feeling even more rewarded. That's right, I'm talking strangers. Find new groups of people, find people in other countries, use the wonder of the internet to your advantage to find where your audience is! It's quite likely you'll find close family members and friends who believe in your work, but when you start finding people you don't actually know, you get a totally unbiased positive opinion on what you do, and this will continue to spread. When you feel that people need and respect what you do, your ability to get it done will soar. Always acknowledge your self worth and know your value, but also know that other people see it too. It can be hard to tell yourself you're awesome all the time with barriers such as fear and jealousy, sometimes you just need a few others to do that for you on the side to remind you to keep those barriers down. So don't even worry. I'll be audience member No. 1 and tell you, you're awesome! |
