When working as a team it's important to let your teammates know you actually have an opinion. This is to all those people who like to sit back and let the natural leaders take over. Saying that you 'don't really mind' or you're just happy to do whatever idea is far from the truth and we know it, even if you might not. Everyone has an opinion, it's a normal part of being human. What i've found is that some people don't know how to get that opinion out of them. They are ruled by a fear of rejection, a fear of 'being wrong', a fear of criticism. But you know what makes a team strong? Opinions. Opinions forming together to find a common ground. And in fact this isn't just teamwork advice this is general life advice. You have an opinion, and it matters! you go and do what you do with that opinion because no doubt someone out there will share it with you. Learn that just because your opinion might be rejected by others doesn't mean it's wrong. It could simply mean you are talking to the wrong people, and for all you know whatever criticism you get might actually help shape your opinion into something new. |
