Striving for perfection is perfectly ridiculous. Perfection is described as being a collection of all the required desirable elements, to be as good as it is possible to be. The elements that require you to see something as utterly desirable, can so easily differentiate from someone else's elements. Nothing can therefore be truly defined as 'perfect' unless defined by a set of agreed standards, or personal opinion. What I've managed to outline here is that you are the creator of what is deemed to be perfect, you actually get to choose if something is perfect or not. Don't complicate your life by setting standards for perfection, you will find so many more opportunities if you accept mistakes, and use them instead as opportunities. Perhaps you choose to see making mistakes, as perfect. Nothing can go wrong! All you have done is opened more windows for creativity, what could possibly be imperfect about that? This morning I dropped a ceramic bowl, it smashed into pieces. As I was sweeping up the mess ready to throw out before my flatmates saw me, I had a sudden urge to keep the pieces... the silky, shining white surface was just begging to be my next canvas. Look at every mistake like an opportunity... |
