Goals are an easy way to get yourself more motivated. If you give yourself something to strive for you'll probably find more of an incentive to achieve what you want. However it is important to realise the goal shouldn't always be a signal of where to stop. You can go beyond the goal! Your goals should be used as a tool to help you get motivated rather than defining exactly what you have to do. If you limit yourself to achieving goals and then stopping straight away, you won't be able to keep on top of whatever you've gained from that achievement. What's the point if you're just just going to end up right back where you started? Goals should be used to inspire you to keep going! The satisfaction from soaring past your goals is worth much more than simply achieving them. Use your ability to keep going even further than you had expected to ignite that little fire inside you. Not only will it be a positive trait you can carry over to other aspects of life, but you will have proved to yourself just what you're capable of. Make some goals, and then kicks those goals in the butt. |
