A lot of students find it hard to keep motivated during study. But I know that most people are motivated by something, whether it be dancing, fitness, cooking, internet searching or any other hobbies. How can we translate that motivation over to the world of study? Firstly, assess why you're even studying in the first place, you must be doing it for a reason! you have something to strive for and believe me it is totally worth it to keep up motivation during this time. Not only will you be putting that student loan to good use but you won't be spending half your time for a good chunk of 3 years doing something you don't even love. Translate the motivation you have in other areas towards something you might not be so passionate about, but know you have to get through. I personally don't want to spend the precious time I've been given as a human, on activities I don't even want to do. Find the aspects of it that you do love and emphasise those for yourself. Better yet, bring your hobbies into your study! weave your projects to work in with something you already love. This doesn't just go for study either. If you're having a crap day at work bring over the motivation you have elsewhere! Think of all the crap days you've had, imagine if you could replace them with positive days, motivation and passion. Much, much, much easier said than done, I know. But remember that when you're looking back on this day you'll be wishing you spent it a bit more wisely. Don't disappoint your future self. |
