As I've learnt from Noah Scalin, or in the words of James Victore, "Feck Perfuction", there is no need to strive for the so called realm of being 'perfect'. Why? Because to be perfect doesn't even have a set standard. You can't hand your work in anywhere to be professionally acclaimed and stamped as perfect. It's a word used to describe something being as good as it is possible to be, and it's a word you can only use as part of your own opinion. You actually get to decide if something is perfect to you, and that's why it's overrated. It doesn't describe something out of your reach, it isn't a mystical land where only the really talented people go. It's all up to you what it is and what it isn't. It's great to strive for perfection but only your own sense of it. Don't fool yourself into thinking theres a big list of requirements for something to be perfect, you've already ticked them all off by simply being alive. |
