So many people worry about 'the real world', but what does this term even mean? Is the world I'm already living in not real enough? Perhaps it means finally being on your own, making your own way through the world without parental supervision or being told you are too young to see an R18 movie. Being a kid, growing up, making mistakes is all part of being 'real' in my opinion. To be emancipated is not to find this so called 'real world' you have been seeking, it's just one of the steps we are able to take. We have the potential to guide our own future and therefore define our own 'real world'. Having the gift of consciousness and perception allows us to view the world however we want to. I know it may seem like what you are seeing can't be seen any other way, but there are countless examples of how we can see the same thing at different times and feel differently about it. This is the very aspect of human life that advertising design plays on when creating consumer wants, needs and trends in products/markets. Don't go by what everyone else want's you to see, see what you want to see. Make your own 'real world' and there will be nothing to worry about. |
