What does success mean to you? money? family? A more sustainable planet? Love? Respect? You have the ability to define your own success. What you might find is that in some ways you are already successful. Humans have the desire to want more, and therefore will never usually feel 100% content with life, the grass is always greener on the other side. As soon as you meet one goal, you need a new one otherwise you find it difficult to have purpose in life. This is why you will not only never be truly successful, but are already and always will be successful. You are constantly meeting and chasing success throughout your life. Instead of focusing on what you are yet to achieve, consider all the things you have already achieved. Take time to realise that you are subconsciously creating new goals for success while simultaneously meeting others. It's really an even playing field, but you can find more motivation and relaxation (and therefore more creativity) if you claim your present success. Try writing down your goals no matter how big or small, and keep adding to this list as you make new goals. Keep the same list for a year, 5 years, 20 years. When you are able to physically tick off goals, whether it's 'land my dream job' or 'use up the leftover cream in the fridge', you will feel much more accomplished. Speaking of, I really must use up that leftover cream in the fridge... |
