As perfectly stated by one of my tutors, this is probably the truest of true pieces of advice out there no matter who you are. Your greatest work of all, no matter what you do for a living, is your life. Why do we ever do what we do? why are we here? what is our purpose? As humans we have an instinct for survival so really everything we ever do is for life. When you're stressed or tied down at work it can be important to take another look at the big picture. Is whatever you're doing ultimately constructing your life project? While I'm not entirely comfortable comparing my entire life to just another project I'm working on, it's this very realisation that proves how insignificant the smaller projects are. Remember why you do whatever you do, and always do what you love in a way that can contribute positively to your life. |
