Does any of this sound familiar? "We have aaaaaaaages, no rush". Or how about, "WE HAVE NO TIME!!! so much work to do aaaaggghhhh". Both, I believe, are foolish ways of looking at time when it comes to work. In a situation with deadlines time management is one of the easiest keys to finding success in a less stressful (or less lazy) way. Especially in a team situation this can really boost a team's dynamic, because coming to agreements early on means you can also motivate each other to stick to them. There is no ' too much' time, and there is no 'too little time', However there is always time. If you can learn to plan and manage your time, it means you won't rush when you don't need to, and you won't be relaxing when you can't really afford it. Spreading the work load evenly over the time you are given allows for a much more positive and smooth engagement with the project, whether working on your own or in a team. Calendar's are basically my best friend when being introduced to a new project. Whether you stick to it strictly or loosely, it will always allow you to visualise the time rather than have the idea floating around in your mind. Don't let time get the best of you, make the best of your time. |
