If you are the type of person who procrastinates or has bad habits in regards to distraction, a good way to get yourself working on something is to ask yourself what you are doing. Yes, it's as simple as that! Figuring out if what you are doing is relevant to what you want to achieve or not is entirely up to you, but simply asking yourself this will allow you to question your habits and use basic analysis of your environment as a means to get you back on track. A suggestion by Tanner Christensen in his Skillshare class is to set reminders at random times asking "what are you doing right now?". If the answer is Facebook scrolling, TV watching or anything distracting of the like, then you could probably benefit from asking yourself if this is really helping you achieve something today. Sometimes we get distracted without even realising, and it can pay to have a little reminder that you've got something else more important to focus on. If you find you keep getting distracted, try having a break to free up your mind a bit. Read up on this post about thinking outside the box, literally. Remind yourself that what you are doing right now, is beneficial to reach your idea of success. |
